Mental Health America of Vigo County is celebrating back to school 2017!
Did you know that Mental Health America of Vigo County has had a long standing partnership with the Vigo County School Corporation? In fact, our programs have been present in area schools since 1992! Programs such as Too Good for Drugs and No Fear Future Club provide students with the knowledge to resist peer pressure on drug and alcohol use.
No Fear Future Club gives students the opportunity to learn valuable leadership skills for the future and the importance of giving back to their communities. Middle school students who are a part of this club are given the knowledge and tools to be social advocates and leaders of their schools, teaching other students the importance of getting involved and contributing to the community.
We have an exciting announcement to make!
This school year, Mental Health America of Vigo County will be expanding the Too Good for Drugs Program to the Southwest School Corporation, serving 4th grade students of Sullivan County area elementary schools!
Such programs are scarce in rural counties, and Mental Health America of Vigo County wanted to change that. We are proud to be a part of a great school corporation and excited to offer this much needed education to these students!
We cannot do it without your support!
To support this expansion and the programs of Junior Mental Health America, please consider giving this school year!
